TPR Steward

A TPR Steward is a person accredited by AERA who takes the Temperature and Pulse* information of horses prior and during an event. This is to ensure that the horse is in a fit and healthy condition to ride the event.

We are always needing more TPR stewards to volunteer at rides, if you wish to learn more, please refer to the Accreditation page on AERA or click the link below.

WAERA generally run a TPR course during the Easter Marathon each year.

Pencillers in the vet ring at rides are always needed and a great way to see what being a TPR is all about.

*note In AERA rule changes 2024, it is now not compulsory to take the horse’s respiration rate.
