Collie Memorial Ride - 10 Oct 2026

The Collie Memorial Ride is a special event, where we ride not only with our current friends and endurance colleagues, but make a special point to carry with us in our hearts those of our endurance community who have passed. Former endurance members including: Bruce Scott, Robert Westgarth, Amanda Arkell, Ken Hobday, Tanya Duffy, Anna Jermolajew, Kevin Durbridge, Jenny McCamish, Meg Woodhouse, Terry Sweeney, Richard Summerfield, Lizzy (Elizabeth) Cullam and Keith Davenport were just some of our absent members that we took a moment to remember this weekend.

The ride was well attended with 12 riders in the 80km event and included some parts of the State Championship tracks (also our 2027 Tom Quilty tracks!). It was also a great opportunity to test out the new Outback Arabians gazebo, which will be put to good use in the lead up to the 2027 Tom Quilty and it was also fabulous to see a number of juniors participating in the event.

Congratulations to Keiran O’Driscoll and Tora Almandin for coming first place and Best Conditioned Heavyweight in the event. Caren Earl and Glenrowan Estate Baha were the first Middleweight and also BC recipients. Leigh Hopkinson and Roswa Park Wildfire were first over the line for the Lightweight division, with the BC being awarded to Crystal Piggot partnered with Woodbrook Phoenix. A specially emotional award for Crystal as her horse was bred by Meg Woodhouse and this was also her qualifying ride! Well done Crystal!
